The most common side effects of ZILRETTA were similar to those seen in people who received a saltwater injection:
- Joint pain
- Joint Swelling
- Sore throat and runny nose
- Bruising
- Headache
- Back pain
- Upper respiratory tract infection

Type 2 diabetes
In a small clinical trial of people with controlled Type 2 diabetes, minimal elevation in their blood glucose level was experienced after treatment with ZILRETTA vs another corticosteroid.
Note: Corticosteroids may increase blood glucose levels. Individual patient experience may differ from what was seen in this study. The clinical significance of this information is unknown.
